Welcome to Altrui. These Terms and Conditions govern the use of our platform, which aims to facilitate contact between people who lost an item and those who may have found it. By using the app, you accept these conditions.

Altrui operates from Argentina and is governed by applicable Argentine law.

1. What is Altrui

Altrui is a digital platform that allows publishing lost or found items or pets, searching reports, and contacting other people who may have relevant information.

Altrui acts solely as a technological intermediary. It does not participate in the delivery, verification, or recovery of items or pets, nor does it guarantee any result.

2. Registration and account

To use Altrui, you need to register with truthful information and keep your account secure.

  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs with your user account.
  • We may suspend accounts with suspicious, false, or non-compliant activity under these Terms.
  • You must keep your password secure and not share it.

3. Permitted use

You are expected to use Altrui responsibly. It is permitted to:

  • Communicate with other users within the platform framework.
  • Provide accurate and respectful information.

It is prohibited:

  • Publishing false, misleading, or fraudulent information.
  • Attempting to sell others' items or demanding undue rewards.
  • Impersonating identities or harassing other users.
  • Using the platform for illegal or dangerous activities.
  • Publishing offensive or discriminatory content, or content that violates other people's rights.

4. User-provided content

Content (photos, descriptions, messages) is the exclusive responsibility of the user who publishes it. By uploading content, you grant Altrui a non-exclusive license to display it within the platform to provide the service.

We may modify or delete content that violates these Terms or that we consider inappropriate.

5. Operation and limitations

Altrui does its best to keep the platform working well, but some things are outside our control:

  • Altrui does not guarantee that a lost item will be found or returned.
  • We do not verify the identity of each user or the authenticity of published items.
  • The coordination of meetings or deliveries is the exclusive responsibility of the involved users.
  • We recommend acting prudently and taking reasonable precautions when coordinating in-person meetings.

6. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Altrui is not responsible for:

  • Damages, losses, thefts, or incidents arising from contact or meetings between users.
  • False or inaccurate content published by third parties.
  • Technical failures, interruptions, or errors on the platform.
  • Any action taken by users outside Altrui's control.

This limitation does not apply in cases of fraud or gross negligence on our part.

7. Privacy

By using Altrui, you accept our Privacy Policy, where we explain how we handle your personal data.

8. Intellectual property

"Altrui" and all elements associated with the app (design, software, logos, trademarks) are the property of Ulises Tempel. It is not permitted to copy, reproduce, or use them without authorization.

9. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms if the platform evolves. The current version will always be published in the app with the last updated date.

If the changes are important, we will notify you by email with reasonable advance notice. Continued use of the platform implies acceptance of the current version.
