Terms and Conditions of Use

Welcome to Altrui. These Terms govern the use of the platform, whose goal is to help people who lost something get in touch with those who may have found it. By using the app, you accept these conditions.

Altrui operates from Argentina and is governed by the applicable Argentine law.

1. What Altrui is

Altrui is a digital platform to publish lost or found items or pets, search reports and contact other people who may have relevant information.

Altrui acts solely as a technology intermediary. It does not take part in the delivery, verification or recovery of items or pets, and does not guarantee any result.

2. Registration and account

Most features require you to sign up, with email and password or with your Google or Facebook account. The information you provide must be truthful.

You can report something you found without creating an account. In that case we ask for a valid email, where we send you a private link to manage the report. That link is personal: do not share it. These Terms also apply to those reports.

• You are responsible for all activity on your account.
• You must keep your password secure and not share it.
• We may suspend accounts with suspicious or fake activity, or that breach these Terms.

3. Permitted use

Altrui is a community platform and we expect it to be used in that spirit.

Allowed:

• Publishing lost or found items or pets.
• Contacting other users within the platform.
• Providing accurate, honest and respectful information.

Prohibited:

• Publishing false, misleading or fraudulent information.
• Trying to sell items or pets that are not yours, or demanding undue rewards.
• Impersonating others or harassing other users.
• Using the platform for illegal activities or activities that may harm others.
• Publishing offensive or discriminatory content, or content that violates other people's rights.

4. Content published by users

The content you publish — photos, descriptions, messages — is your responsibility. By uploading it, you grant Altrui a non-exclusive, free license to display it within the platform and, when you ask for it (for example, by requesting that your report be shared or promoted), on Altrui's social media accounts, for the sole purpose of helping reunite what was lost with whoever is looking for it.

We reserve the right to modify or remove content that breaches these Terms or that we consider inappropriate, without prior notice.

5. How it works and its limits

Altrui does its best for the platform to work well, but some things are beyond our control:

• We do not guarantee that a lost item or pet will be found or returned.
• We do not verify each user's identity or the authenticity of what is published.
• Arranging meetings or hand-overs is the sole responsibility of the users involved.
• We recommend acting prudently and taking reasonable precautions when arranging in-person meetings: choose busy public places and go with someone if possible.

6. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by Argentine law, Altrui is not liable for:

• Damage, losses, theft or incidents arising from contact or meetings between users.
• False or inaccurate content published by third parties.
• Technical failures, outages or errors on the platform.
• Any action taken by users outside Altrui's control.

This limitation does not apply in cases of willful misconduct or gross negligence on our part.

7. Privacy

By using Altrui you also accept our Privacy Policy, where we explain in detail how we process your personal data and what your rights are.

8. Intellectual property

"Altrui" and all elements associated with the platform — design, software, logos, trademarks — are the property of Ulises Tempel. Copying, reproducing or using them without express authorization is not allowed.

9. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms as the platform evolves. The current version will always be published in the app with the last-updated date.

If the changes are important, we will let you know by email with reasonable notice. Continued use of the platform implies acceptance of the current version.
